The European Investment Trust plc (the “Company”)

The Company announces that, following the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting to be held on 24 January 2017, Mr Douglas McDougall will be retiring as a non-executive Director of the Company. Mr McDougall has been on the Board since 1999 and has been Chairman of the Company since that year.

Following Mr McDougall’s retirement, Mr Michael MacPhee, a non-executive Director of the Company, will succeed Mr McDougall as Chairman of the Company.
