Facility Agreement

The European Investment Trust plc (the "Company")               

                              Facility agreement                               

The Company announces that it has entered into a Euro 30,000,000 secured
multicurrency revolving loan facility agreement with Scotiabank Europe PLC for
the purpose of pursuing its investment objective. The facility is available for
three years and interest will be payable on amounts drawn down at the rate of
1.55 per cent. per annum above the British Bankers' Association Interest
Settlement Rate.
