Directorship Change
As part of its succession planning, Baring Emerging Europe plc ("The Company"), announces the following changes: the Company is delighted to announce that Calum Thomson has been appointed as a non-executive Director of the Company with effect from 21 September 2017. Mr Thomson is a qualified accountant with over 25 years' experience in the financial services industry. For the past 21 years, he has been an audit partner at Deloitte LLP, specialising in the asset management sector, with clients including a wide range of managers, investment trusts, banks, sovereign wealth funds, large charities and private equity funds. During his career, Mr Thomson has led Deloitte LLP’s global and UK asset management groups. He is a non-executive director and audit committee chairman of The Diverse Income Trust plc, a non-executive director and audit committee chairman of BLME Holdings plc, a non-executive director and audit committee chairman of British Empire Trust plc. The Company confirms that there are no matters which are required to be disclosed under Listing Rule 9.6.13 (2) to (6).
As of the AGM to be held in January 2018, Steven Bates will retire as Chairman and will be replaced by Frances Daley. Ms Daley has been a director of the Company since April 2014, and has been Chair of the Audit Committee.
