                        SIGNIFICANT SHAREHOLDER NOTICE                         

Base Resources Limited (ASX:BSE, AIM:BSE) ("Base" or the "Company") is pleased
to advise that Genesis Asset Managers LLP has today notified the Company that
it became a substantial shareholder on 23 September 2013 and currently holds
interests in 28,121,727 ordinary shares in Base representing 5.01% of the
Company's issued share capital.

The total holding above is an aggregate of related party interests held by
Genesis Emerging Markets Opportunities Fund Limited (17,048,839) and Genesis
Emerging Markets Opportunities Fund Limited III (11,072,888). The registered
holder of the securities is HSBC Custody Nominees (Aust) Limited.
