The Company was today informed that, under the terms of the Bellway plc (2003)
Savings Related Share Option Scheme, 2,857 Bellway p.l.c. 12.5p ordinary shares
were transferred today to John Watson for a consideration of £3.36 per share.

Following the above transaction, the number of Bellway plc 12.5p ordinary
shares which are beneficially held by Mr Watson is 403,384 (0.33%).
