Appointment of New Director

The Board of The Biotech Growth Trust PLC is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Julia Le Blan as an independent non-executive Director of the Company, with effect from the conclusion of the Company’s Annual General Meeting to be held on 12 July 2016. She will succeed Peter Keen as Chairman of the Audit and Management Engagement Committee following his retirement from the Board at the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting to be held in July 2017.

Julia is a chartered accountant and has worked in the financial services industry for over 30 years. She was formerly a tax partner at Deloitte and sat for two terms on the AIC’s technical committee.

The Chairman of The Biotech Growth Trust PLC, The Rt Hon Lord Waldegrave of North Hill, commented:

Julia is a non-executive director of Investors Capital Trust plc, Impax Environmental Markets plc, JP Morgan US Smaller Companies Investment Trust plc and Aberforth Smaller Companies Trust plc.

Her appointment will be proposed to shareholders for election at the Annual General Meeting of the Company to be held in July 2017.

There is no further information to be disclosed under Listing Rule 9.6.13R(2) to (6).
