                 THE BIOTECH GROWTH TRUST PLC (the "COMPANY")                  

Further to the Prospectus published on 29 July 2013, the Board believes that in
the short term further share issues can be made within the current limits
approved by Shareholders and that to avoid incurring the additional cost of a
supplemental prospectus as a consequence of the publication of the annual
report in June, the Board have exercised their discretion to suspend the
Placing Programme with effect from today - ENDS -
