BlackRock North American Income Trust plc (the "Company") today announces the
publication of a supplemental prospectus (the "Supplemental Prospectus"), which
is supplemental to and should be read in conjunction with the prospectus
published on 27 February 2013 in connection with a placing programme (the
"Placing Programme") in respect of up to 16,837,500 ordinary shares of one
pence each in the capital of the Company ("Shares").

The Supplemental Prospectus is required following the announcement of the
Company's half yearly report.

The Supplemental Prospectus together with the Company's half yearly report will
shortly be available for inspection at the National Storage Mechanism which is
