BlackRock Commodities Income Investment Trust plc ("the Company") announces
that Jonathan Ruck Keene will be proposed for election as a non-executive
Director at the Company's Annual General Meeting on 13 March 2009, in place of
Graham Birch, who will retire as a director with effect from that date.

Mr Ruck Keene has been an alternate director to Dr Birch since 23 April 2007
and holds 14,000 ordinary shares in the Company. He is also a director of
BlackRock Absolute Return Strategies Ltd.

There are no other details in relation to the above appointment which require
disclosure under Listing Rule 9.6.13 R (2) to (6).
