                      ANNOUNCEMENT OF QUARTERLY DIVIDEND

The Board of Merrill Lynch Commodities Income Investment Trust plc is pleased
to announce that a second quarterly interim dividend in respect of the year to
30 November 2007 of 1.125p per ordinary share has been declared by the
Directors, payable on 27 July 2007 to holders of ordinary shares on the
register at the close of business on 29 June 2007 (ex dividend date is 27 June
2007).
