Statement re Blocklisting Application

BlackRock Greater Europe Investment Trust plc (the "Company")

Block listing application

An application has been made to the UK Listing Authority and the London Stock
Exchange for a block listing of 3,000,000 Ordinary Shares of 0.1 pence each in
the Company pursuant to the terms of the Subscription Shares dated 25 March 2013.

The shares will, when issued, rank pari passu with the existing Ordinary Shares
of the Company.
