Voting Rights and Capital

In conformity with the Transparency Directive we would like to notify the
market of the following:

As at 10 November 2010, BlackRock Greater Europe Investment Trust plc's capital
consists of 99,871,041 Ordinary Shares of 0.1 pence each (excluding 2,642,046
Ordinary Shares held in treasury), carrying one vote each and 18,977,902
Subscription Shares of 0.1 pence each with no voting rights (although these
shares are considered "qualifying financial instruments" in accordance with the
revised DTR 5).

As at 10 November 2010, the total number of voting rights for Ordinary
shareholders in BlackRock Greater Europe Investment Trust plc is 99,871,041.

The above figure (99,871,041) may be used by shareholders as the denominator
for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to
notify their interest in, or a change to, their interest in BlackRock Greater
Europe Investment Trust plc under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
