BlackRock Latin American Investment Trust plc

The Board of BlackRock Latin American Investment Trust plc announces the
resignation of Mr Mailson da Nobrega as a non executive director of the Company
with immediate effect.

Mailson joined the Board at the launch of the Company in 1990 and given his
length of tenure and other commitments has decided to retire as a director.

The Board would like to thank Mailson for his contribution and wise counsel
over the last 20 years.
