                     Appointment of Non Executive Director                     

Bodycote International plc, the specialist Thermal Processing and Testing
services company, is pleased to announce the appointment of John Biles as a Non
Executive Director with immediate effect .

John has extensive experience of the engineering sector having been Finance
Director of FKI PLC from 1998-2004. He was previously Group Financial Director
of Chubb Security PLC (1991-1997), having joined Racal Electronics, where he
fulfilled a range of senior finance positions, in 1981. John qualified as a
Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse, and then spent five years with
Thorn EMI Plc (1976-1981).

He is currently a Non Executive Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee at
Charter Plc, Armor Group International Plc , Hermes Pensions Management Ltd ,
Viridian Group Plc (which was listed until December 2006) and t wo private
companies. His was formerly a Non Executive Director and Chairman of the Audit
Committee of Chapelthorpe Plc and Amey Plc.

John will become Chairman of the Bodycote Audit Committee, replacing Richard
Scholes, who, as previously announced, will be stepping down from the Board.
