AXA'S voting rights now total 4.97%

In accordance with their obligations under the Transparency Directive (section
5.8.3) AXA S.A. of Paris (on behalf of itself AXA Rosenberg and other group
entities) notified the company on 10 October 2008 that as at 7 October 2008 it
held voting rights in respect of 16,005,048 shares representing 4.97% of the
voting rights in respect of Bodycote's issued share capital on that day (5.33%
as of 21 July 2008).
