                            Change of Company Name                             

Capita plc (the "Company") wishes to advise that, as approved by Capita's
shareholders at the Capita Annual General Meeting held on 11 May 2011, it has,
with immediate effect, changed its legal name from The Capita Group Plc to
Capita plc to align the name with how the company is marketed across all
communications channels.

Trading in securities of the Company under the new name is expected to commence
on the London Stock Exchange on the next trading day following the date of this
announcement, which will be 4 January 2012 for the London Stock Exchange.

The Company will continue to use the ticker code CPI on the Main Market of the
London Stock Exchange.

The Company's website address will remain as www.capita.co.uk.

A copy of the Certificate of Incorporation on Change of Name has been submitted
to the National Storage Mechanism, and can be viewed at www.hemscott.com/nsm.do
