Statement re IBS OPENSystems

RESPONSE TO COMPETITION COMMISSION'S PROVISIONAL FINDINGS FOLLOWING INVESTIGATION OF CAPITA'S ACQUISITION OF IBS OPENSYSTEMS The Capita Group confirms that the Competition Commission has issued a notice of its provisional findings in relation to Capita's acquisition of IBS OPENSystems. Those provisional findings are that the acquisition may impact adversely on the supply of Revenues and Benefits software to local authorities in the UK. The Competition Commission has therefore decided to consult on appropriate ways to address the potential loss of competition. These remedies could include a requirement for Capita to sell all or part of the acquired business. These findings are provisional. Capita will continue to make its case to the Competition Commission in the continuing inquiry. -ends- For further information: The Capita Group Plc Tel: 020 7799 1525 Paul Pindar, Chief Executive Shona Nichols, Corporate Communications Director Note to editors The Capita Group Plc is the UK's leading provider of BPO and integrated professional support service solutions.
