Transaction in Own Shares

CHELVERTON GROWTH TRUST PLC

The Company announces that on the 31 August it cancelled the 607,770 Ordinary
shares that were held in Treasury.

These shares were bought at an average price of 31.80p. Following this
cancellation and the previous cancellation of 34,169 shares the remaining
ordinary shares have enjoyed an uplift of 0.64p per share.

The number of Ordinary shares in issue and the total voting rights are
17,500,000.

The Net Asset Value, based on bid prices, per Ordinary Share of 1p (including
current period revenue) at close of business on 31 August 2007 was 50.58p.

Currently no shares are held in Treasury.
