SMALL COMPANIES DIVIDEND TRUST PLC

The Company has been advised that Lord Lamont of Lerwick, a Director of the
Company, purchased on 18 June 2007, 333 ordinary shares at a price of 238p
each. The shares were purchased pursuant to a regular monthly standing order
through the Chelverton Savings Plan.

As a result of dividend reinvestment he also purchased 40 ordinary shares at a
price of 233p each on 29 June 2007.

Lord Lamont is now deemed to have a disclosable interest in 2,386 ordinary
shares, representing 0.01% of the issued share capital.
