SMALL COMPANIES DIVIDEND TRUST PLC

The Company has been advised that Mr William van Heesewijk, a Director of the
Company, purchased on 19 November 2007, 53 ordinary shares at a price of 187p
each. The shares were purchased pursuant to a regular monthly standing order
through the Chelverton Savings Plan.

Mr van Heesewijk is now deemed to have a disclosable interest in 24,182
ordinary shares, representing 0.15% of the issued share capital.
