BFS Small Companies Dividend Trust PLC

The Company was today notified by Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited that as a
result of the appointment of Maunby Investment Management Ltd as the new
investment manager of Danae Investment Trust Plc on 31 October 2002 that they
have disposed of 853,000 Ordinary 25p shares of the Company.

The total number of shares now managed by Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited and
its associated companies is 1,769,997 Ordinary 25p shares, representing 11.24%
of the issued class of capital.

The breakdown of the total holding is as follows:
