BFS SMALL COMPANIES DIVIDEND TRUST PLC

The Company was informed today by Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited that as a
result of the termination of the investment management agreement with Jove
Investment Trust PLC on 7 November 2002, Aberdeen's interest in the shares of
the Company has reduced by 547,000.

The total number of shares now managed by Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited and
its associated companies is 1,210,497 Ordinary shares, representing 7.69% of
the issued class of capital.

The breakdown of the total holding is as follows:
