DISCLOSURE OF INTEREST

The company was notified on 20th Decemberr by Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein
Group Limited, an indirect subsidiary of Allianz AG, that Allianz AG and its
subsidiaries now hold a notifiable interest in 12,857,203 ordinary shares of 5p
each in the Company, representing 15.20% of the total shares in issue. Included
in this holding is the interest of Veer Palthe Voute NV which is interested in
12,821,338 shares representing 15.16% of the shares in issue, based on a total
number of shares in issue of 84,564,168.
