DISCLOSURE OF INTEREST

The company was notified on 10th January by Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein
Group Limited, an indirect subsidiary of Allianz AG, that Allianz AG and its
subsidiaries now hold a notifiable interest in 14,663,760 ordinary shares of 5p
each in the Company, representing 17.34% of the total shares in issue. Included
in this holding is the interest of Veer Palthe Voute NV which is interested in
14,638,145 shares representing 17.31% of the shares in issue, based on a total
number of shares in issue of 84,564,168.
