Chesnara plc, the closed life fund company, will be reporting interim results
for the half year ended 30th June 2006 on Wednesday September 6, 2006.

Chesnara was formed to manage the life assurance activities of Countrywide
Assured and was listed in May 2004.

On 26 June 2006, Chesnara announced that it had obtained Court clearance for
the transfer of City of Westminster Assurance, which it acquired in June 2005,
into Countrywide Assured.

A presentation for analysts will be held at 0930, on Wednesday September 6,
2006 at the offices of Panmure Gordon & Co, Moorgate Hall, 155 Moorgate,
London, EC2M 6XB.
