Transaction in Own Shares
Chesnara plc ("Chesnara" or "the Company") announces that on 6 October 2008 it
purchased 362,261 of its 5p ordinary shares at a volume weighted average price
paid per share of 115.0 pence. The highest price paid per share was 115 pence
and the lowest price paid per share was 115 pence.
The shares purchased have been transferred into treasury. As a result of this
transaction Chesnara now holds 664,274 shares in treasury.
The Board has taken the decision to conduct this purchase of the Company's own
shares as a result of the low level of the Company's share price. The total
value of shares purchased was £416,600.
The total number of shares in issue (total voting rights) after taking into
account the movement of these 362,261 shares into treasury is 103,924,511 (at
the date of this announcement).
