Concurrent Technologies Plc
Product Launch
Conduction-cooled rugged computer board
Concurrent Technologies Plc (the "Company"), a world leading specialist in the
design and manufacture of high-end embedded computer products, announces the
launch of its latest single board computer, the TP 402/351-RC, specially
designed for use in rugged environments.
This 3U CompactPCI® board uses the latest dual-core processors from Intel® and
is conduction-cooled for use in very harsh operating environments. As such, it
is well suited for applications within the defence, aerospace, security,
transportation, industrial-control and telemetry sectors. In addition, this
product is available as a ruggedized air-cooled version as well as in an
extended temperature range version. The product is also capable of operating at
high altitudes and can sustain very high shock and vibration levels.
Part of the Company's strategy has been to design and produce these types of
rugged computer products. The launch of this board is the first product
resulting from this strategy and as such, it clearly demonstrates that the
Company has the skills and expertise to design and produce extremely
sophisticated products using the latest processing technology.
Glen Fawcett, Managing Director, commented:
"Designing and manufacturing computer products for use in extremely demanding
applications is a highly specialised field and one in which we now clearly have
wide ranging skills. A principle management aim is to capture the widest
possible audience for our products. The type of technological innovation that
has been applied in this product demonstrates that our aims are being
fulfilled."

Notes to Editors:
Concurrent Technologies Plc develops and manufactures high-end embedded
computer products for use in the telecommunications, defence, security,
telemetry, scientific and aerospace markets. Using the latest Intel® Core™ dual
core processors, the single board computers support high performance
applications, some being capable of operating in temperatures from -40ºC to
+85ºC for applications within harsher environments. Concurrent Technologies
produces a wide range of boards designed according to industry standard
specifications including CompactPCI®, VME boards, AdvancedMC™, PCI Mezzanine
Cards and Multibus II.
The TP 402/351-RC uses the 1.5 GHz Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor with the Intel®
3100 server chipset and supports an XMC module in a single slot. It can operate
in a system slot, peripheral slot or as a blade. The board operates at
altitudes of -1000 to +50,000 feet (-305 to +15,240 metres) over -40°C to +85°C
(no airflow) and the ruggedized version enables it to operate to a shock of 40g
(11ms, half-sine), sine vibration 5g (5Hz-2KHz) and random vibration, 0.1g²/Hz
(10Hz-1KHz) and 6dB/octave from 1KHz to 2KHz.
