Concurrent Technologies Plc
Product Launch
Concurrent Technologies Plc ("Concurrent"), a world leading specialist in the
design and manufacture of high-end embedded computer products, announces the
launch of a new development system designed to aid customers within
Concurrent's target markets in the design and implementation of their own
specific applications.
Using the industry standard Micro Telecommunications Computing Architecture
("MicroTCAâ„¢") platform, the SY AMC/205 is a free-standing cube which supports
up to 5 Advanced Mezzanine Card ("AMC") modules, and comes pre-loaded with an
Intel® dual-core processor AMC, a graphics and storage-disk AMC, and a MicroTCA™
Carrier Hub (MCH) which leaves 3 AMC slots available for system development.
This will enable customers to deliver high performance solutions in a small
footprint, tailoring the system to bespoke applications within the
telecommunications infrastructure, medical equipment, security, defence and
other embedded product markets.
This product adds value by allowing customers to develop their own applications
using a higher performance system than previously available, meeting an
identified need in the marketplace. It is expected that sales driven by this
product launch will result from both new and existing customers, in addition to
the purchase of additional AMC boards for use in this MicroTCAâ„¢ system.
Glen Fawcett, Managing Director, Concurrent Technologies Plc, commented:
"We are delighted to be continuing to drive forward new products that provide
specific benefits for our customers, and will endeavor to maintain this level
of development throughout the year. We feel it is important to use our growing
engineering and development capacities to bring to market high performance
products that have a clear demand and will help us to attract new business."
