Concurrent Technologies Plc
Product Launch
Concurrent's latest mass storage module
Concurrent Technologies Plc ("Concurrent"), a world leading specialist in the
design and manufacture of high-end embedded computer products, announces the
launch of a new 3U CompactPCI® mass storage module and an optional expansion
board.
This is a key product launch for Concurrent as this mass storage module can be
used by customers with their existing systems, providing extended capabilities
with the one controller board. Having a high-specification module compatible
with a number of Concurrent's Intel® processor-based embedded boards will be
attractive to both existing and new customers looking for straightforward
enhancement of their systems' storage.
The TP MS1/x11 SATA300 controller board accommodates two 2.5 inch SATA (Serial
Advanced Technology Attachment) 300 mass storage drives and a CompactFlashTM
site. A further two drives can be incorporated by adding the TP MS1/100
expansion board.
This product enables the integration of SATA 300 mass storage drives into a 3U
CompactPCI® system, where performance, functionality, power, space and cost are
key elements. It is available in commercial, extended temperature and
ruggedised air-cooled versions and can be used in conjunction with appropriate
host computers such as Concurrent's latest Intel® dual-core and Intel® Pentium®
M processor based 3U CompactPCI® boards.
Glen Fawcett, Managing Director, Concurrent Technologies, commented:
"This new product offers high reliability disk storage in a scalable solution.
It is ideally suited to a variety of applications particularly within the
defence, industrial control, telecoms, telemetry, scientific and aerospace
markets, where performance is vital. Having this storage module work in
conjunction with our existing products allows customers to easily improve their
systems and functionality, to meet high operational demands. With this launch
we are continuing our goals of delivering products which meet our target
customers' needs and that help drive new sales in our global markets."
