Concurrent Technologies Plc
Product Launch
Two new Fabric Switch products introduced to embedded market
Concurrent Technologies Plc ("Concurrent" or the "Company"), a world leading
specialist in the design and manufacture of high-end embedded computer
products, is pleased to announce the launch of two new fabric switch boards.
These new products complement the Company's existing processor products by
providing the switching technology needed to allow multiple computer boards to
intercommunicate effectively particularly in the case of larger computer
systems. These fabric switch boards will be marketed in combination with
Concurrent's computer boards.
The FR 331/306 is an OpenVPXâ„¢ fabric switch board operating at gigabit data
transfer rates. OpenVPXâ„¢ is becoming the bus architecture of choice for many
new projects within the defence market, in particular within very harsh
environments.
The FX 322/0xx is a multi-channel VXS fabric switch board operating at multiple
gigabit transfer rates. VXS is a standard which introduces serial switch fabric
technology into the established VME bus standard which has been extensively
used for many years in applications within defence, security, industrial and
aerospace applications.
Glen Fawcett, Managing Director, Concurrent Technologies, commented:
"The introduction of these two new high performance boards allows the Company
to compete for a larger share of its existing markets. Our customers can
benefit from the assurance that these boards are designed and tested
specifically to work with our high performance processor cards."
"We said in our interim statement that we would continue to commit to R&D and
these are the first of our new product launches that we signaled at that time.
Continued product development is central to Concurrent's strategy and the
result of our investment in new products is a strengthened competitive position
and an increasing customer base."
