Product Launch
New VME dual-core processor, dual PMC board
Concurrent Technologies Plc ("Concurrent") a world leading specialist in the
design and manufacture of high-end embedded computer products, announces the
launch of its latest single-slot VME dual PMC single board computer, the VP 417
/03x. It uses the latest mobile dual-core processors from Intel®, giving
customers improved performance/watt and making it ideal for low power intensive
processing applications.
This new board represents an upgrade from the previous VP 31x/02x family and so
will be of great interest to Concurrent's existing customer base looking for
increased performance with new and next generation projects. The VP 417/03x
includes extensive input/output functionality and flexibility and is currently
available in commercial and extended temperature versions; the ruggedised,
conduction-cooled versions will be introduced shortly. All of these features
will make the board suitable for a range of applications within the defence,
industrial control and transportation markets. Developing products that provide
increased performance well suited to customers' demanding applications is key
to the Company's current marketing drive.
Glen Fawcett, Managing Director, commented:
"The release of this new VME family of single board computers is part of our
continuing product development plans to provide an upgrade path for our main
Pentium M based boards to the very latest Intel® dual-core processors.
"This high performance VME product is pin compatible with the earlier generation
product and therefore provides an easy technology upgrade for existing
customers. It will also be available later this year in a ruggedised format and
should therefore also be an attractive solution for applications within very
harsh environments."
