                              ANNOUNCEMENT ON POWER GENERATION 
                                 FOR THE FIRST HALF OF 2014

The board of directors (the "Board") and all directors (the "Directors") of the Company 
warrant that there are no false representations and misleading statements contained in, or 
material omissions from this announcement, and severally and jointly accept the 
responsibility for the truthfulness, accuracy and completeness of the contents of this 
announcement. 

This announcement is made pursuant to Rule 13.10(B) of the Rules Governing the Listing of 
Securities on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited.


Datang International Power Generation Co., Ltd. (the "Company") announces that, based on the 
Company's preliminary statistics, as at 30 June 2014, total power generation of the Company 
and its subsidiaries (the "Group") amounted to 90.9270 billion kWh, representing a decrease 
of approximately 2.08% when compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Total 
on-grid power generation of the Group amounted to 85.8820 billion kWh, representing a 
decrease of approximately 2.16% when compared to the corresponding period of the previous 
year.

The Group's power generation of thermal power generation units decreased by approximately 
2.02% when compared to the corresponding period of the previous year which was attributable 
to a slowdown in economic growth of China and the decrease in overall regional on-grid 
utilisation hours of thermal power generation units. The Group's power generation of hydro-
electric power generation units decreased by approximately 4.41% when compared to the 
corresponding period of the previous year as a result of the decrease in inflowing water in 
area where the generation units situated. Since the capacity of the Group's wind and 
photovoltaic generating units were enhanced, power generation of the Group's wind and 
photovoltaic generating units increased by approximately 4.07% when compared to the 
corresponding period of the previous year.

II.    Status of capacity increase in the first half of 2014

       Installed capacity in the first half of 2014 increased by 542.295MW, breakdown of
       which is shown as below:

       (1) Technological reform of an increase in installed capacity of thermal power 
           generating units: 160MW;
 
       (2) Increase in new installed capacity of hydro-electric power generating units: 
           174.295MW;

       (3) Increase in new installed capacity of wind power generating units: 118MW;

       (4) Increase in new installed capacity of photovoltaic generating units: 90MW.

III.   Approval status of power generation projects

       In the first half of 2014, the Group has obtained official approvals on one thermal
       power project, one wind power project, one hydro-electric power expansion. Details are
       as follows:

       (1) Thermal power project: Hebei Wei County power plant 2¡Á600MW;

       (2) Wind power project: Ningxia Hongsibao phase 1 wind power 100MW;

       (3) Hydro-electric power expansion project: Chongqing Haokou Hydro-electric Power 
           Project expansion 10MW, proposed capacity of Chongqing Haokou Hydro-electric Power
           Project after expansion is 135MW.
