                       Announcement on Power Generation                        
                       for First three quarters of 2014

The board of directors (the "Board") and all directors (the "Directors") of the
Company warrant that there are no false representations and misleading
statements contained in, or material omissions from this announcement, and
severally and jointly accept the responsibility for the truthfulness, accuracy
and completeness of the contents of this announcement.

This announcement is made pursuant to Rule 13.10(B) of the Rules Governing the
Listing of Securities on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited.

Datang International Power Generation Co., Ltd. (the "Company") announces that,
based on the Company's preliminary statistics, as at 30 September 2014, total
power generation of the Company and its subsidiaries (the "Group") amounted to
141.1742 billion kWh, representing a decrease of approximately 0.75% when
compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Total on-grid power
generation of the Group amounted to 133.4814 billion kWh, representing a
decrease of approximately 0.76% when compared to the corresponding period of
the previous year.

The Group's power generation of thermal power generation units decreased by
approximately 1.65% when compared to the corresponding period of the previous
year which was attributable to a slowdown in economic growth of China and the
decrease in on-grid utilisation hours in the region where the thermal power
generation units of the Group situated. The Group's power generation of
hydro-electric power generation units increased by approximately 5.08% when
compared to the corresponding period of the previous year as a result of the
increase in inflowing water in area where the generation units situated. Since
the capacity of the Group's photovoltaic generating units were enhanced, power
generation of the Group's wind and photovoltaic generating units increased by
approximately 2.35% when compared to the corresponding period of the previous
year.

II. Status of capacity increase in the first three quarters of 2014
   
    Installed capacity in the first three quarters of 2014 increased by
    2,253.795MW, breakdown of which is shown as below:

    (1) Increase in new installed capacity of hydro-electric power generating
        units: 264.295MW;

    (2) Increase in new installed capacity of wind power generating units: 118MW;

    (3) Increase in new installed capacity of photovoltaic generating units: 90MW;

    (4) Technological reform of an increase in capacity of thermal power generating
        units: 160MW; increase in new installed capacity: 1,621.5MW, among which:

        i. Increase in new installed capacity of Gao Jing Thermal Power Plant:
           921.5MW. During the period, the trial operation of 168 hours fully loaded
           "two-on-one" unit of Gao Jing gas power and thermal power joint production
           project invested and constructed by the Company (total capacity of 921.5MW)
           was successfully passed. It marks the replacement and enhancement in clean
           and efficient energy of Gao Jing Thermal Power Plant. It will continue to
           make new contribution to improve the air quality in Beijing, optimize the
           ecological environment and safeguard the citizens' needs.
   
       ii. Increase in new installed capacity of Shizhu coal-fired boiler project:
           700MW. During the period, No.1 and No.2 power generation units (total
           capacity of 700MW) of Chongqing Datang International Shizhu Power
           Generation Company Limited, have started operation successively. The two
           power generation units will further enhance the Company's installed thermal
           power capacity, improve the energy structure and development environment of
           Chongqing, to contribute towards social and economic development of the
           region.
   
III. Approval status of power generation projects
   
     In the first three quarters of 2014, the Group has obtained official approvals
     on four projects. Details are as follows:

     (1) Thermal power project: Hebei Wei County power plant 2x600MW, Inner Mongolia
         Autonomous Region Tuoketuo power plant phase 5 2x660MW;

     (2) Wind power project: Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Hongsibao phase 1 wind
         power 100MW;

     (3) Hydro-electric power expansion project: Chongqing Haokou Hydro-electric
         Power Project expansion 10MW.
