Announcement on Power Generation for the First Three Quarters of 2015

The board of directors and all directors of the Company warrant that there are no false representations and misleading statements contained in, or material omissions from this announcement, and severally and jointly accept the responsibility for the truthfulness, accuracy and completeness of the contents of this announcement.

This announcement is made pursuant to Rule 13.10(B) of the Rules Governing the Listing of Securities on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited.

Datang International Power Generation Co., Ltd. (the "Company") announces that, based on the Company's preliminary statistics, as of 30 September 2015, total power generation of the Company and its subsidiaries (the "Group") amounted to approximately 133.1934 billion kWh, representing a decrease of approximately 5.65% when compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Total on-grid power generation of the Group amounted to approximately 126.1228 billion kWh, representing a decrease of approximately 5.51% when compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

As affected by the surplus balance of nationwide power demand and supply in general and the decrease in regional on-grid utilisation hours where the thermal power generating units of the Group were located, the power generation of thermal power generating units and the on-grid power generation decreased by approximately 7.04% and 6.92%, respectively, when compared with the corresponding period of the previous year. The power generation of the Group's hydropower generating units and the on-grid power generation increased by approximately 4.68% and 4.62%, respectively, when compared with the corresponding period of the previous year as a result of factors including the increase in capacity of hydropower generating units. Since the capacity of the Group's wind power generating units were enhanced, power generation of the Group's wind and photovoltaic generating units and the on-grid power generation increased by approximately 11.09% and 9.82%, respectively, when compared with the corresponding period of the previous year.

As of the first three quarters of 2015, the average on-grid tariffs of the Company was RMB401.10 per MWh.

2.      Status of capacity increase in the first three quarters of 2015

Installed capacity in the first three quarters of 2015 increased by 624.5MW in total, breakdown of which is as follows: Increase in newly-installed capacity of wind power generating units of 143.5MW and increase in newly-installed capacity of hydropower generating units of 481MW.

3.      Status of the power generation projects approved

In the first three quarters of 2015, the Company has obtained official approvals for a total of four thermal power projects, one wind power project, three photovoltaic projects and one hydropower capacity expansion project. Details of which were as follows:

(1)         Thermal power projects: Guangdong Datang International Leizhou power plant "Replacing Small Units with Large Units" newly constructed 2x1000MW project, Datang International Tangshan Beijiao 2x350MW thermal power co-generation project, Datang Xilinhaote power plant newly constructed 2x660MW project, Liaoning Datang International Huludao thermal power plant "Replacing Small Units with Large Units" newly constructed 2x350MW project;

(2)         Wind power project: Datang International Zhejiang Pinghu 32MW wind power field project;

(3)         Photovoltaic projects: Qinghai Geermu Phase III 50MW photovoltaic power generation project, Qinghai Gonghe Phase III 10MW photovoltaic power generation project, Hebei Fengning Phase I 20MW photovoltaic power generation project;

(4)         Hydropower capacity expansion project: Chongqing Wujiang Yinpan 45MW hydropower capacity expansion.
