         Announcement on Power Generation for the First Quarter of 2011

This announcement is made pursuant to Rule 13.09(2) of the Rules Governing the
Listing of Securities on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited.


Datang International Power Generation Co., Ltd. (the "Company") announces that,
based on the Company's preliminary statistics, as of 31 March 2011, total power
generation of the Company and its subsidiaries (the "Group") amounted to
46.0327 billion kWh, representing an increase of 24.73% when compared to the
corresponding period of the previous year. Total on-grid power generation of
the Group amounted to 43.3685 billion kWh, representing an increase of 25.13%
when compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

The significant increase in power generation of the Group for the first quarter
of 2011 over the corresponding period of the previous year was mainly
attributable to an increase in capacity of the operational generating units of
the Group and an increase in the demand for electricity in the service areas of
the Group.
