The Edinburgh Investment Trust plc
Third interim dividend
As foreshadowed in the announcement of the Company's results for the six months
to 30 September 2006, on 23 April 2007 the Board approved and declared a third
interim dividend in respect of the year to 31 March 2007 of 4.40 pence per
share. This dividend will be paid on 18 May 2007 to shareholders on the
register on 4 May 2007. The ex-dividend date will be 2 May 2007.
The first and second interim dividends, each of 4.40 pence per share were paid
on 24 November 2006 and 9 February 2007 respectively. The final dividend to be
paid in July will be determined when the final results are available. In the
absence of unforeseen circumstances the Board does not expect that this final
payment will be less than each of the three preceding ones. The Company will
accordingly meet its second Investment Objective, to increase dividends at a
rate above that of UK inflation.
