HEADLINE: Issue of Equity

The Board of The Edinburgh Investment Trust plc (the ‘Company’) announces that it has today resolved to issue and allot 300,000 Ordinary shares of 25p each in the Company, at a price of 726.4p per ordinary share.

This allotment is to satisfy secondary market demand and is made under the annual authority granted by the Company’s shareholders for such allotments. The new shares rank pari passu with the existing shares in issue and an application is being made for them to be admitted to the Official List and to trading on the main market of the London Stock Exchange.

Following this issue and allotment the total number of ordinary shares in issue will be 195,666,734 which should be used as the denominator for calculating interests in the Company.
