Statement re BlockListing

FIDELITY CHINA SPECIAL SITUATIONS PLC ("the Company")

An application has been made to the UK Listing Authority and the London Stock
Exchange for a blocklisting of 45,999,999 ordinary shares of 1 penny each
pursuant to a general corporate purposes scheme.

Shares issued under the block listing will be equal in all respects to the
ordinary shares already in issue.

When issued these shares will rank pari passu with the existing ordinary
shares.
