                      FINSBURY GROWTH & INCOME TRUST PLC                       

                            Second Interim Dividend                            

The Board has declared a second interim dividend of 5.1p per share in respect
of the year ending 30 September 2008, such dividend will be paid on 3 November
2008 to shareholders on the register on 3 October 2008.

The Board does not intend to recommend a final dividend in respect of the year
ending 30 September 2008. The total dividend paid for the year will be 9.5p per
share (2007: 9.0p per share), an increase of 5.6% on the previous year. The
shares will go ex-dividend on 1 October 2008.
