                      FINSBURY GROWTH & INCOME TRUST PLC                       

                            First Interim Dividend                             

The Board has declared a first interim dividend of 4.4p per share (first
interim dividend 2008: 4.4p per share) in respect of the year ended 30
September 2009. Such dividend will be paid on 6 May 2009 to shareholders on the
register on 3 April 2009. The associated ex-dividend date is 1 April 2009.
