                      FINSBURY GROWTH & INCOME TRUST PLC                       

                            Second Interim Dividend                            

The Board has declared a second interim dividend of 5.1p per share in respect
of the year ending 30 September 2009, such dividend will be paid on 6 November
2009 to shareholders on the register on 2 October 2009.

The Board does not intend to recommend a final dividend in respect of the year
ending 30 September 2009. The total dividend paid for the year will be 9.5p per
share (2008: 9.5p per share). The shares will go ex-dividend on 30 September
2009.
