FIRSTGROUP PLC APPOINTS NEW GROUP COMPANY SECRETARY              

FirstGroup plc today announces that Sidney Barrie, Group Commercial Director
and Company Secretary is to resign as Company Secretary with immediate effect.
He will continue in his present role as Group Commercial Director. He will be
replaced as Company Secretary by Paul Lewis. Paul is a Scottish Solicitor who
joined FirstGroup plc as a Deputy Company Secretary on 4 April 2011.
