                        Directors'/PDMRs' Shareholding                         

FirstGroup plc ("the Company") has today received notice that on 7 November
2007 the Trustees of the FirstGroup Employee Benefit Trust (the "EBT") acquired
385,332 ordinary shares of 5 pence in the FirstGroup plc at an average price of
749.1606 pence per share. The EBT now holds 682,166 unallocated FirstGroup plc
shares.

FirstGroup plc shares held by the EBT are used to satisfy awards made to
participants in the Company's Executive Share Option Scheme and Executive
Annual Bonus Plan.

The following executive directors and PDMRs of the Company are potential
beneficiaries of the EBT and are deemed to be interested in those shares for
the purposes of the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rule 3.1.2R.
