Further to the announcement made on 8 December 2008, FirstGroup plc confirms
that Nicola Shaw joined the Board as Director responsible for Bus in the UK,
Ireland and Germany with effect from 5 January 2009.

Nicola Shaw holds 5,084 FirstGroup plc shares at the date of her appointment.

There are no other details required to be disclosed under Listing Rule 9.6 13R.
