FirstGroup plc ('the Company') has today received notice that with effect from
28th October 2004 Mr Edward C. Johnson 3d (as a principal shareholder of FMR
Corp. and Fidelity international Limited) no longer has a notifiable interest
in the ordinary shares of the Company.
