Genesis Worldwide Inc. announces commissioning

Genesis Worldwide Inc. announces commissioning of new production facility in Sonoma County California and sale of its new MOT industrial technology platform MISSISSAUGA, ON, Aug. 9 /CNW/ - Genesis Worldwide Inc. ("Genesis" or the "Company"), (TSX/AIM: GWI), a leading provider of "green" structural building technology using light steel, announces the commissioning of the new production facility of its licensee, Codding SFS (Structural Frame Solutions) ("Codding SFS"), at Sonoma Mountain Village, an environmentally-conscious redevelopment in Northern California. Codding SFS is the first Genesis licensee to fully deploy Genesis' proprietary Coil-To-Panel ("CTP") technology platform. Using the Genesis Solution, a turn-key solution which includes leading edge software, industrial equipment, hardware, processes and engineering services, the Codding SFS plant will implement some of the highest principles of environmental sustainability and "green" building. An integral part of the Genesis Solution is the CTP industrial technology platform. CTP technology is a fully automated system which has two sub-categories. The first is the C4 Custom Panel Fabrication Line ("C4"), which is part of Genesis' basic technology package. C4 is a light steel frame panel assembly line designed to maximize production and maintain quality control. The second sub-category is the Material Optimization Technology ("MOT"), which is a completely integrated software-driven profile extrusion system. The C4 assembly line at the Codding SFS plant has been completed and will begin production by the end of August. The MOT portion of the CTP line will be implemented in the first quarter of 2008. Codding SFS is part of California-based real estate developer, Codding Enterprises. Codding Enterprises is redeveloping the former Agilent Technologies campus in Rohnert Park, California, now known as Sonoma Mountain Village, an environmentally conscious and sustainable mixed-use development community. The recently commissioned light steel structure facility will produce panels to be used in the reconstruction and renovation of the existing buildings on the old Agilent site, as well as in the construction of new residences and commercial buildings up to six storeys in height. Genesis CEO, Vince Mifsud, sees this type of venture as an opportunity for Genesis to continue to establish itself as an environmental and technology solutions leader within the building industry. "The Sonoma Mountain Village project is a significant milestone for Genesis. This project is an example of the growing interest that developers are demonstrating in conservation by utilizing environmentally sustainable products and processes of the highest quality," stated Mr. Mifsud. Codding President and CEO, Brad Baker, believes the CTP line will enable Codding SFS to have more control over their supply line as well as significantly lower costs in production. "We are very excited about using Genesis' technology and products. We have had tremendous market response about our new initiative with Genesis and we are anxious to get started," remarked Mr. Baker. Codding's venture into adaptive re-use of existing buildings and Genesis' "green" structural building technology should prove to be a partnership that leads the way in bringing about environmentally friendly changes to building processes. About Genesis Worldwide Inc. Genesis develops and licenses structural building technology aimed at the residential, commercial and institutional building markets.
