GARTMORE DISTRIBUTION TRUST PLC
The Extraordinary General Meeting of the Company, convened to comply with
section 142 of the Companies Act 1985, took place this morning to consider
whether any, and if so what, steps should be taken to deal with the situation
that the net assets of the Company were less than half of its called up share
capital.
The Directors confirmed that the controlled realisation of the Group's net
assets, as sanctioned by the shareholders of GDT Securities PLC at an
Extraordinary General Meeting of that company held on 13th May 2002 and
subsequently re-approved on 26th June 2002, was ongoing. It was the Directors'
belief that it remained in the best interests of shareholders to continue to
realise the Group's investments in a controlled manner.
