Announcement

Hays announces that Halifax EES Trustees International Limited as trustee of
the Hays plc Employee Share Trust has today purchased 284,144 ordinary shares
in Hays plc at 158.3703p pence per share for the purpose of satisfying options
and awards under the Company's share plans (including the award to Denis Waxman
announced on 19 December 2006).  For the purposes of the Companies Act 1985,
the executive directors of the Company are treated as being interested in all 
1,996,367 shares held by the trust.
