TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

In accordance with the provisions of Listing Rule 12.6.4, the Board of Hays plc
advises that on 27 April 2007 it transferred 80,057 Ordinary Shares currently
held in Treasury to satisfy an award under the `Hays plc 1995 Executive Share
Option Scheme', the `Hays plc 1996 Company Share Option Plan' and the `Hays plc
2003 Long-Term Co-Investment Plan'.

Following this transfer, Hays plc holds 107,811,172 Ordinary Shares in
Treasury. The number of shares in issue is 1,456,285,394 (excluding treasury
shares).
