TRANSFER OF TREASURY SHARES

In accordance with the provisions of Listing Rule 12.6.4, the Board of Hays plc
advises that on 4 April 2008 it transferred 132,839 Ordinary Shares currently 
held in Treasury to satisfy awards under the `Hays plc UK Share Save 
Scheme - 2004 offer'.

Following this transfer, Hays plc holds 62,516,712 Ordinary Shares in Treasury.
The number of shares in issue is 1,401,579,854 (excluding treasury shares).
